Behavior
The Andorrans are very well aware of the world around them as well as the differences in opinions and behaviors. Because of this they are quite understanding of various cultures and foreigners so odd behaviors are generally accepted (but not encouraged).
Your behavior should begin with modesty as being loud, rude, showing off wealth, or dressing provocatively will get you stares. Likewise, placing yourself above others or boasting is viewed negatively.
As a visitor to Andorra, just try to follow the lead of the locals by dressing in like manner (see below for details), dining in the local etiquette (see our Andorra Dining & Food Page), and avoid sensitive conversation topics, such as politics, finances, and business unless initiated by your local counterpart.
Dress
The traditional dress in Andorra is still popular for some holidays and special occasions, but is no longer worn on a daily basis. For women this outfit consists of a white shirt with a skirt that reaches just beyond their knees, which can come in numerous colors and patterns. Over this they wore an apron, scarf, and fingerless black gloves. For men this dress included dark colored pants, a white shirt, as well as sometimes a vest, cardigan, or thick red sash worn around the waist.
Other than national holidays, the people of Andorra today wear modern western-styled clothing. The styles and designs of these clothes are as diverse as the people themselves. As a visitor to Andorra you are free to wear nearly any western-styled clothing you wish; just try to dress for the occasion as churches, business settings, and other more formal places require long pants and preferably shirts that cover the shoulders at a minimum.
