Social Life in Canada
Behavior
There are few behavioral restrictions in Canada as the country is filled with immigrants and all cities are used to great ethnic, religious, and behavioral diversity. Just try to avoid sensitive conversation topics, such as politics, finances, religion, and business unless initiated by your local counterpart. Also try to avoid being loud, rude, showing off wealth, or getting noticeably drunk in public.
Dress
The traditional dress in Canada is quite varied. Prior to the arrival of the Europeans the First Nations Peoples generally wore animal furs and other natural clothes that could be found with varying degrees of warmth due to the vast differences seasonally. With the arrival of the Europeans, and since, the traditional dress of an individual tended to reflect their individual ethnic heritage. Over time there were two general groups of people, the Brits and the French, and their dress reflected these pasts.
