Geography, Weather, & Wildlife of Lithuania
Geography
Curonian Spit
Lithuania is a "Baltic State," which is located in northern Europe on the Baltic Sea. Lithuania borders Russia (the Kaliningrad section to the southwest), Poland (south), Belarus (east), and Latvia (north).
Geographically, Lithuania is a very flat country that stands just above sea level. A number of small rivers and tributaries make the country very livable as does the Baltic Sea. Due to this near geographic uniformity every part of the country is accessible and people live throughout the country.
Weather
Lithuania's seasons are fairly distinct, although springs and falls (autumns) can be short. Winters (December-February) tend to be cold with very short days as Vilnius averages only about 25˚ F (-4˚ C) during these months.
