Top Tourist Destinations in Australia

Australia is full of unique destinations that will leave you with lifelong memories. Seemingly everything in Australia is a tourist attraction: beneath the waters, on the land, and in the skies above. Here are some of my top Australian destinations:

Fraser Island

Located off the eastern coast of Australia, Fraser Island is often rated among the most amazing natural geographical wonders in the world. It is the world’s largest sand island and is full of beautiful surroundings. The island offers lots of fun, including swimming, scuba diving, exploring the inner forests, and enjoying delicious meals among many other fun activities and sports. Fraser Island is also home to numerous animal and plant species found, including dingoes, birds, turtles, and squirrels, plus a rainforest and a variety of indigenous plants.

Great Barrier Reef

Sydney Bridge & Opera House

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef in the world and is made up numerous individual reefs and islands. Regularly considered one of the natural wonders of the world, this is a must see tourist destination in Australia. The reef, and its many islands, features white water rafting, sailing, and of course diving among the wildlife, including over 2000 different species of fish.

Blue Mountains

The Blue Mountains are a reserve consisting of valleys and rivers, among other natural wonders. There are a variety of fun outdoor activities to engage in while on a tour to the Blue Mountains, some of which include hiking, horseback riding, camping, picnics, and nature walks. There are also different local community activities and cultural celebrations found at cultural centers in the mountains.

Kangaroo Island

A vacation to Australia is never complete without touring Kangaroo Island; which is the third largest island in Australia. There are numerous nature reserves and natural vegetation on the island; ideally you’ll be able to see kangaroos, numerous bird species, and other animals. The island is also home to fishing, ocean safaris, and delicious foods and wines.

Sydney

No trip to Australia would be complete until you visit Sydney and its many iconic landmarks. Bondi Beach, the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the of course the world famous Opera House are must see attractions in this thriving city. The world class hotels and restaurants in Sydney will also make you feel right at home!
